About the event

Join me for a masterclass in sewing a summer dress - perfect for beginners.

I'll teach you how to draft a really easy pattern yourself - made to measure. It sounds tricky but it's really not: This workshop is perfect for anyone who would like to make their own clothes but hasn't tried before. The dress is quick to make - and it has pockets!

(Likewise, if you're a dab-hand at sewing, you will enjoy this speedy make).

I'll talk you through the process of measuring and making your pattern, then cutting your fabric. You'll have the opportunity to ask any questions as we go through.

Then I'll talk through the sewing and finishing process, sharing plenty of hints and tips to make your life easier.

You will be sent a video of the session, so you can watch it back and play/pause at your leisure. And you'll be able to make as many dresses as you like!

Design it yourself:

You can choose your neckline - you may prefer a V-neck or round neck.

You choose the dress length.

And you can add a belt if you like.

You will need 1.5 - 2m fabric depending on your size and preferred dress length. If in doubt, please ask me. Or wait to purchase your fabric until after the session if you're unsure.

Cotton / linen are the perfect fabrics. I used 100% linen from fabricsgalore.co.uk (15% off with code Themakery15%)
